Hi mate,
yeh i notice the low end having a bit more torque, also seems that the engine has a slight different sound to it, i believe with the 3rd cat out you should have even more low end, still i'm pretty happy with the outcome.
but to be honest i haven't got a chance to really put my foot down and thrash it yet, to paranoid with all the cops around every corner i turn.... bloody double demerits crap.
i'll see how i go in the next few days, with some laps around indusrtrial areas.

cheers
B

sorry, i couldnt help...

and has anyone had experience with the Weapon R short ram intake?

have you guys ran 100cel cats? If yes, did the dash board make any lights?

I ran a while without ANY cat, big performance difference but with all kind of lights cause of running without the sensors. I installed high flow cats http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnaflow-94066-Universal-Catalytic-Converter-Oval-2-5-In-Out-w-Dual-O2-/300706253086?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item46037d491e and I'm not satisfied with their performance!

Saff

What part of their performance are you not satisfied with? Power down too much? Lights on dash coming on? or ?

Hi Tim,

I believe that there is just a slight performance difference between them and between the stock ones, and that's in speeds below 140km/h I would say. After that you feel better than with the stock ones. No lights currently on.

I'm planning for an XTR tune, and want the best proven cat available with the least save differential pressure. The cats I run just restrict too much I believe, and I don't know how they would perform in low speeds.

Saf

Ask Kleinerbastler which catalytic converter he has used, it may help you with your decision.

The items you bought must certainly be bad for performance to be close to stock!!

I had the engine light come on about a week after after putting on 100cpsi cats. Edward changed the ROM for me to get rid of the problem.

From my humble understanding, putting these 100 cats would then hurt your engine exhaust valves (temperature). A certain differential pressure has to be there across the cats in order to have your exhaust valves cooled a little, I don't know how this is calculated but I'm assuming the lights indicate a related issue.

If I'm wrong above, I would put these cats without a worry... hope somebody can clarify a bit.

If the cleaning of the cats is to low the rear O2 sensor will throw a CEL. You can switch this off via RomRaider or tuner.
I use BRAIN cats, maybe more expensive than other brands - but very good quality. They make OEM stuff for many brands.

I used Loboko cats. The code reported when the engine light came on was "low cat efficiency". Based on the fact that it took over a week before the light came on, I believe the cat efficiency loss is only marginal.

I don't believe there will be a problem with the exhaust valves. The exhaust valves should be made from suitable material, and as far as I'm concerned, any possible problem related to a change in back pressure will be fixed by having a tune done. I have changed the exhaust on nearly every car I've had, which is quite a few, and I have never had any exhaust valves burn out. That problem is usually related to using incorrect fuel or having the ignition timing advanced too far.

BJ

Can you recall how many CPI the cats were that you used?
