Nice slimlines, I'll stop filling the Team white thread with posts and put it in here now.

You should get a numberplate spacer, it's such an awesome mod it really gives the car a more aggressive look yet it's so cheap.

the ones cruisn makes? I literally just put my name down :) he does a good job with them as well, also want to lift the rear plate up a little bit as you can just see the blocks it's mounted on

Well actually, I'm not a fan of cruisns one because it puts the number plate out too far due to it's thickness.
I custom made my own out of stainless steel in a 1 piece deal, it's only 2-3mm thick so it's not noticeable like Mark's one is when you look at it from above / side.

I'll take some pics of it tomorrow if I get a chance.
Not that I don't think it's great Mark is making them (for free!) but I just think the only way to make a number plate spacer is if you can't tell you are using one.

Fair call, If you can get a pic of yours that would be great, just to get an idea. Did you bring your rear plate up? Mine only needs about 15mm of lift and the front needs a fair amount to clear the air flow.

Am also buying another passenger headlight (from the wreck, dr20t) as mine has a small crack in the housing causing it to always have water inside :( Once that is done i reckon the lip, the grill and coilovers :)

The spacer is stainless steel but I sprayed it black anyway, dunno why as it was kind of pointless but I had a can of spray lying around doing nothing so I sprayed it.

The top holes on the spacer are some small square threaded nuts welded on to the back of the stainless steel. And then I bought some new pan head screws from bunnings (was a few dollars for 8 pack) like the ones that fit the number plates already, and had those cut down to the right size so it would end at the very end of the thread on the nuts welded to the back of the spacer.
In the 3rd picture I put my number plate surround back on. Because the bumper curves you will never be able to get it to sit perfectly flat for the whole plate, so that's as best as you can do basically.

Oh and I measured it like Mark did for the gap between the top section and the body, mine is just under 4mm, Marks is 10mm for comparison.

wow Kieran that's pretty good, getting the plate only 4mm away, doubt you can get any closer with those nuts welded on the back, good job :)

Kieran, in the 3rd pic (side view) the bracket looks to jut above the plate. Is that the case? Because the first pic looks good.

No you are just mistaking the number plate surround section as the bracket. If you look at the height difference between the screw holes on the number plate, and the holes on the bracket in pictures 1 and 2, you can see the number plate has more space between the edge of the number plate and the holes compared to the bracket. The bracket ends a few mm before the number plate does. You could make the gap even less if you wanted, but it still ends earlier than the number plate already so I don't know why you would bother.

Edit: Sorry smithyy for posting this in your thread

New grill, still deciding between badge or no badge.

Would look good either way. Badge will somewhat hide the vertical support, without badge you might have to paint that support black.

Will be painting black shortly, considering a GT badge on the right hand side, maybe just subaru oval in the middle.

Next on the list, STD adjustable coilovers and Front Lip 8)
