Saw LUK3Y's car at Moorabbin DFO today. I knew who's car it was because I remember him from FordForums! :D

I like this idea. Any excuse really to talk shop and have a peek and a poke under the bonnet.

Anyone care to organise one?

The carwash in Burwood seems to be a popular place to meet pre cruises etc.

Depending on whether you actually want to wash your car or not - popular place usually means packed.

I drink coffee too.. And I can eat cake at the same time....

I can also eat a kebab.... If I remember correctly that might me more your style Clarence. :D

Though finding one open early Saturday morning could be tricky.

Anyone else got a suggestion?

haha. Kebab is good for me :P but why not just make it an evening meet? Would it be a bit easier on a weeknight after work, perhaps?

Clarence is not a morning person! His 6am is equivalent to our midday. :D

I reckon we go with a monthly meet at a carwash/coffee shop where we can rotate the site around Melbourne, to facilitate the inclusion of more members/guests.

Magic Hand Carwash and Cafe seem to have several sites around Melbourne and a reasonable cleaning job is done too. Most of them are open from 8am on a Saturday morning and that way we beat the crowd. In fact, we will be the crowd!!! Check out the Cafe Sites here: http://www.magichandcarwash.com.au/location-all.php

I am happy to organise this on a regular basis and see if we can negotiate bulk discounts on the day. I am a regular attendee at my local one and generally buy their pack of 5 vouchers for the price of 4. Not sure if these are transferable between the sites, but will make it part of my enquiries.

For the 1st one, I will check out Collingwood (more central) on Hoddle St (well, Hood St actually). Not sure about overflow parking, coffee shop seating capacity etc. Alternatively, North Melbourne. But the intent is to move the meet around the suburbs to maximise participation.

I am going to start a new thread in the Gatherings Vic area.

All those in Favour? Aye! All those Against? (silence!), then the Ayes have it !!!

You could always try http://www.watertunnel.com.au/Default.aspx

I dunno if I'm in the minority, but I would never let other people clean my car at those car wash places.
Only reason to go to that one specifically is because there is always Lambos/Porsches parked there because the owners of the business are ex-AFL players.
Looks like one of those places where a coffee costs $10
Lucky for me that I hate coffee.

I'm keen on meeting either saturday morning or after work during daylight saving.

Kieran you don't have to wash your car or drink coffee. Just come to catch up.
