Not everyone gets Phat GT’s custom catch cans…… smartest mod you can do with the power you’re chasing.
Btw I think your car will be the only one in the country with that turbo and tmic configuration….enjoy.
Cheers

I'm stoked to be running a Garrett turbo, let alone a HKS GT series. I'm really excited to get the car back. Called phat few hours ago and my car was about to get put on the truck heading for scott's dyno.
I have heard the same thing about the catch can, but I'm struggling to understand what they do and how they help. Feel free to answer this one for me

.
All Subaru engines have issues with blow by……. If you noticed your original inlet pipe has are number of the returns hoses plumbed into it, these hoses are your breather hoses from the crank case and rocker covers.
The air that travels through these hoses carries oil vapour, this oil vapour then lines the entire intake system (inlet pipe, tmic, inlet manifold and throttle body etc….. the oil vapour does not combust as cleanly and in some cases can actually lead to power loss due to the air being contaminated with oil….. Ever noticed white smoke on start up from time to time, especially after are spirited drive???
When you get your OE tmic back and inlet pipe, have are look in it and I’m pretty sure you’ll notice oil in it.
This is one of the many reasons Subaru always pushes for the top end engine cleaner at every service.
Phat GT fits clear high temp reinforced hoses especially made to handle oil, so you can see the catch can is working……
