Great job Hamish on the M3..

It's a PITA to work on Beemer paint..

I couldn't get the before shot since I only rely on the sun and I had no halogen light to check the paint(no such equipment on my hometown)..

For applying cquartz, it's way better than gtechniq. Gtechniq is a PITA and if you leave it too dry, it will be damn hard to remove.. If it smears, then you need to compound it..

We'll see how cquartz will lasts in Indonesia(99% humidity, everyday above 30 degrees C and washed by a women :D)..

Thanks

Naldo, send me a PM if you want sme portable lighting that is good as hallides for showing swirls etc to take to your hometown.

I think you will find Cquartz won't be effected much by those conditions, It's a good coating

What kind of halogen light Hamish? Is it hot like a normal halogens? Because I can't stand on the hotness if doing detailing jobs in Indo.

Thanks

Yet another EVO,

Wash

Clay didn't bring much up besides a couple of tar spots and light contamination
Image

Headlights had been heavily sanded and still yellow from the DIY kits
Image

Paint had minor-moderate swirls but very had to capture on the odd silver/blue colour

Headlights restored and coated:

Subaru Legacy B4 own by neni, lots of swirl, easy to dry and hazy, and sticky.

Tried many combos like Menz P203S+M205 and Megs UC+M205 with Suburf-yellow Polish pads, no luck at all. Try number megs #9 with finishing pad still hazy.

Until I knew from my mates in Indo, that using ColorX is recommendation from Meguiars for sticky paint and it works for finishing.

So the combo will be P203S with suburf pad half cars, and another half using Megs UC with suburf pad then finish with ColorX with polish pad. Works very very sweet and love it.

So the tools are:
DAS6Pro+suburf pad+Polish pad+finish pad
Iron X
Clay+Megs QD
lots of MF
Menz P203S
Megs UC
Megs ColorX
Autosol all metal polish for muffler
Zaino tire black(very flat look though)
LSP: BFWD+Zaino Z6

Total hour: 10 hours.

Fantastic job!, the paint on that car was really trashed on the priors by the looks of it.

That is one crazy colour too, very very unqiue.

Nandi fantastic job, as I said yesterday to you, get some Optimum polish. It's very good on soft and sticky Holden and some subby paints : )
