New brakes a good thing? I would have thought that the stock brakes were plenty good for the stock power ....

Yeah they probably are. But I love the bling . And I hope to track the car towards end of year and then supercharger next year.

Stock are so lame, except if your cruise all day. In fact all stock legacy brakes are crap except the STI ones.

Just calling a spade a spade. A few long brakes and there are gone. Even the STI ones barely cuts it if you really drive. Twisty roads and you have no brakes Just don't know what Subaru was thinking when there made the legacies.

If I was you and had the money: DBA 4000 rotors, Ferodo pads, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, Braided lines

Handling: Antiroll bars, ALK if possible

Cooling system: Redline waterwetter mix with coolant. I like the red-based coolant.

Rubber: Bridgestone Potenza RE01R or RE11

Will you be modding like Stephen with the extractors and so forth?

Stock pads are probably the issue you are dealing with. Some pads more suited to higher temperatures rather than low dust/low noise/cold bite (which is what car manufacturers want to make the average joe customer happy) make a world of difference. There are a couple on here (myself included) with the stock GT/3R twin pot sliding calipers who are happy in the knowledge that their brakes will handle absolutely everything that could be thrown at them on the road.

I've given mine all hell a number of times (one particular 80km long hard run through a very twisty road - discs clicking and radiating tons of heat when pulled up) and I have had zero issues with fade. I've only changed front pads and discs too - the rears are the originals.

I drive heel and toe as well. You must hammer your brakes something fierce or be driving very hard down some very steep descents (or expect them to feel like F1 brakes)

Wouldn't heel & toe be harder on the brakes? Because you are using the brakes more and engine braking less.

I will make do with stock brakes for as long as possible, buying the vehicle has been as massive enough spend

I will get to making up some extractors for the vehicle, will make sets for others also if needed. Cost unknown.

I might ask HM if they could make a set and provide them for the market

I myself would love to purchase a Tribeca now. I love them. Add tje SC and stiffen the suspension and that's my road vehicle.

Today I learnt the following

A manual spec B has bigger brakes and some kind of adjustable Bilstein suspension. Obviously the Auto trans cars have smaller brake rotors and a fixed rate Bilstein suspension

The Auto has fancy memory seats and the manual just gets electric seats with no memory system for 2 different drivers

Does that all sound correct?
