225 45 18 Possible on Spec B rims ?

Postby Clambin89 » Wed Sep 21, 2011 11:17 am

Hi There
Have been hunting around for a replacement for the oem Bridgestones REO'S ; 215 45 18 and
Obviously found you pay for what you get, there's not really much choice in upper mid range tyres for that size price.
There is however more available in the 225/45.
Is anybody successfully running these ? any feedback would be appreciated .
Have read one short thread thats about it.
Cheers
Geoff

225/45 are okay on the 7" rim.

You "can" use 225/40, but I wouldn't.

Theres no problems running either a 225/45 or a 225/40.

Both are within limitations for tyre size changes from oem.

Obviously the 45 will have a fraction more comfort with the larger side wall and is the one closer in overall diameter to the 215 specs @ only 1.4% difference.

225/40 18... I ran those on my Spec B rims with no dramas.

Most people go for this size for the exact reason you have said... More choice of brand / designs + much more attractive pricing as it's a more common size.
