Stock 2.5 wagon suspension changes...ideas?

Postby Mount.Liberty » Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:06 am

Hey,
Currently driving my 02 Liberty Wagon 2.5L and the rear shocks are gone (floats like a boat over speed bumps and...well...any other bump in the road). It is getting to the point where its almost dangerous around high speed corners because im basically riding springs and the rear sways around alot.

Just wanting to get ideas on what shocks/setups i should be looking for! What I'm looking at is ebay's infamous "BC RACING COILOVERS" and try to find/fit them for a GenIII (this is possible, right?). I would really like adjustable ones because I do alot of street driving and the slightly-more-than-occasional camping trip involving some rocky, quite uneven tracks...would love to be able to pop the car up for these events but also love to have her sitting at a reasonably low height for street. (planning on getting some late model spec.B 18"s soon so should look nice and clean)

I'm also thinking some front and rear sway bars to keep the car more rigid even after the suspension changes.

Am I sounding completely stupid to some people or are these reasonable options for a cheapish price and decent setup?

Thanks!

Wouldn't recommend coilovers for anything off road or bad roads.

The only way you will get it for a cheapish price is if you search forums for second hand gear
