I've got one, shame you're not local. Labour is quite expensive to fit becaue the intake manifold has to come off. Also your engine cover needs to be cut.

Not really a performance gain to be had per se, in my experience. It's a good supporting mod.

And yes, induction and turbo noise is nicer :)

"Pre SE" thats probs the only one I dont around here haha, care to explain?
yea i really want it for that induction noise but for $700 when im only going up to 190-200 kw atw.
I dont think its really worth it.

You do realise that you won't get 190awkw on the stock 04GT turbo unless you have a VERY happy dyno, right?

Mine tuned with everything was reading 150kW on a low dyno - probably about 170awkw on a not-so-conservative one.

Oh sorry i was just qouting from Sean at SnJ who has done the same sort of mods to other preface lift gt's.

stock atw dyno was 140 kw

ECU tune - 30kw
TMIC - 10 kw
intake - 10kw
dump pipe with a tune - 10 kw.

190-200 once final tune is what he qouted me, but im sure you guys would have more eprerience with your own cars.

That's a very high reading for stock, I was under the impression it's more like 115-120. The TMIC increase kind of sounds right, but no way would you get 10kw from an intake. From the info that I gathered when I was working out what I'd be able to get atw it was more like:

Stock atw - 120kw
TMIC - 10kw
Intake - <1kw
Dump Pipe - 15kw
ECU Tune - 30kw
= 170-180kw atw

less 10-15kw cos I have an auto

Serious? Its a 2 hour job tops. Someones laughing all the way to the bank.

I put one in my Gen2 2.5T. When you look at the internal of the stock vs the silicon, there has to be some gain. I'd doubt 10kw, but thered be a little. Induction noise and turbo whistle sound level increase was very nice. :D

Mine cost me $100 and I fitted it in about 1.5 hours.

Definitely a mod not worth $700.

hmm yea he said the ones they buy are $300.
the AVO ones are not to far behind that eiter. and they charge $100 per hour for labour.

I would love to get one of you guys to do it for me but none of you are really in Adelaide.
Dropz is but he is only doing my billies and pads.

when you said you need to get the engine cover trimmed to allow it to fit... where is the trimming needed for that? on the side somewhere?

Cover is trimmed right on the top on Clarances car to clear one of the pipes. It may be something specific to his intake, maybe not.

Thats still $400 labour!

Im replacing a blown VF38 and servicing my mates sister in laws GT on Monday and am asking less than that. ;)
