I wish there was an easy way on the net to look up both wiring diagrams so I could see whats where and re do it agh driving me insane this green wire is on a plug by itsself that plug would go into my old HU but not the newer one and then the newer one has the AUX connector in the same place but different plug everything works fine keeps its memory and aux imput work but just not bloody steering wheel controls.. but yeah the main white connector is different to yours so somehow they have wired the old one differentaly and I just need to compare them both to each other lol

Hey, why dont you post a picture or something? Might be something easy if we see the pic.

Prob best to post a pic of the rear of the unit, and the available plugs.

I can provide a Legacy / Liberty Gen IV wiring PDF - PM me if you want it.

AFAIK - and I have had a look at a lotta schematics around the MY06 era, the steering controls are only via the violet/white and orange/white wires. If you have a multimeter you can test the ohms coming through each wire.

You can also check the green wire WRT gnd - bet you a coffee and a McMuffin its +12v ACC....

I'm attempting the same swap as the smoke came out of my old one :(
Only swapping with a newer one as it's all i could find in the short term.
Now the stereo appears to work (haven't tested CDs), but the heater controls don't.
Did you have any troubles with the heater controls? I'm guessing they're stuffed on the one i got.
