I think the thread needs a picture - this one is in addition to the others supplied by G

MH 3.0R

Did HPF pass any opinion after fitting the kit in regards its difficulty etc?

Ok so I'm heavily considering this kit. I saw two of these installed at the vic meet last Sunday. I was just wondering why mh3.0r was considerably quieter then 3rspecb. And what material is the intake pipe made out of? Could I have the whole system black for a more stealth appearance? Sorry for asking now I just didn't think to ask them at the time.

Doyab

I was unaware that a Vic meet happened even. Any photos? To have 2 of these at same location this early in the life of a kit is indeed a rare thing

3RBSPEC has a charger this is super lightweight (only one of 2 in existance at this time - has UL model designation), there just isnt the material thickness for it to ever be as quiet as the other one. No charger will ever outperform the one that G has but the negative is being so lightweight it has less mass to absorb/contain transmission noise.

MH3.0R has the standard spec lightweight series which has a lot more mass in some parts - this is the common charger to this kit.

Remember if you are going for WTA cooler then you can have a fully sealed charger - even MUCH quieter than MH3.0R has

Tim,

No specific comment on the difficulty of the fitting. I also got them to do the cold air intake like G's at the same time, the 565cc Injectors and the Sard Fuel pump. All done within the same day.

Unfortunetly no photos were taken, atleast none that I was aware of.

As far as noise levels that makes much more sence now.
If I was to buy a kit now which would I be supplied with?louder or quieter?

Anyway to have supercharger delivered black? And have black intake piping? What material is it made out of?

Thanks for your time Tim.
Jake.

I missed the colour question there a minute ago

YES - you name which stuff you want in black and that is how it will be, depending how extensively you want it coloured as to whether there is any additional cost. To have it like MH3.0R means no extra cost

If you want it more like the one from 3RBSPEC then the black anodizing etc costs more

The standard noise level is like MH3.0R's unit, that is the standard spec SC headunit of the kit. Those going for WTA intercooling at the same time will get a sealed transmission with water cooling as the default supercharger type with near zero noise

How many cars/people were at this meet?

Was the meet only for Subaru's or a mix of brands?

Was it club or forum specific?

Tim,

One observation about the engine cover. The positioning does not allow the engine cover to pick up the locating lug at the front right corner (closest point in the photo). So I left this point floating. Got the left one ok, and the two rear moulded plastic push clips (upgraded to the same as the ones for the front grille due to the hole size in the brackets provided). No issue so far, but thought it may be worth mentioning. I think the latest version of your main bracket may help for the future kit buyers to locate both of the front lugs. If you expand the hole in the rear brackets by another 0.5 mm, you will also save 30 mins of hand filing to get the hole size large enough for the larger push clips.

I organised that one Tim. It was a show n shine at a central location to facilitate wide attendance. Not sure precisely, but about 9 turned up out of 13.
