Hey Rob
Are these cat back systems ready to trial fit yet? Im hoping the PhatDP arrives this week so a centre pipe test fit would be good. Can you PM me the price for just that part

cheers mate

Hey Trent,
Can I assume that
1.the TBE has the right size cat conv to remove all the exhaust nasties
2. that the TBE has the connections for both o2 sensors
3. if when installed it is too loud is it possible to get additional hotdogs to reduce the noise

Cheers

3) hotdogs don't reduce volume, only "drone"
insulated/ baffled resonators (mufflers) reduce volume.
pipe size also changes the resonant frequency and reverberations within the pipe to lower the percieved volume

Hi
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) you could add additional hod dogs if you thought it was too loud - but its pretty quiet I found - only under acceleration does it come alive

cheers

Awesome stuff Rob! Tax time is coming around so this is mighty tempting.

Do you have the stats from the dyno to show much performance gain you get from the Turbo back?

You need to get some quad tips going for these. Would be all over them in a heart beat and I imagine a lot of others here would be too.

Please get a sound clip of the twin scroll. Would love to hear how it sounds.

I m waiting on the customer to send me the dyno sheet which should be this week.
This is based on our 3inch tbe and tune only.

This is the Sti Lib in the sound clips - I drove it and lots of go!

Any good exhaust shop could mod/cut the single tip and add a twin tip for each muffler. This is how the Holden Ve systems are done ex factory - one pipe ex muffler then split into 2. Not a big job to do and then you have the twin tips you are chasing.

:)

Cheers

Not yet - I will have to find out how far away the twin scroll prototype is and will post up when I know

Hi Rob,
Any news on the dyno readings?

Do you know of a good exhaust place in Perth who could do this
Cheers

Jeff

I just got the ultrex cat back system and Phat DP fitted last week. The guy at the exhaust shop was impressed with the quality of the ultrex system (and DP!) everything lined up well. Only criticism was that the muffler outlets were not perfectly aligned out the cutouts under the rear bumper.
Sound is good - not too loud and minimal if any drone.
Performance has definately improved already (I already have an ECUTEK but will get a retune shortly and post the dyno sheet when all done)
Only change I'm making is to change the tips as the massive 4" cans is not my cup of tea (im too old for that look) Tomorrow I'm fitting smaller angle cut tips that will sit more discretely under the bumper. I'll post done pics when it's all done.

Cheers Jeff
