Had another go today at making a stronger guide. Was alot harder bending the persex when i only had a heatgun to do it.

Way stronger than the last one though.

Coupled with this coming from where the resonator used to sit.Should have plenty of cold air now!

In regards to the resonator part though, it doesn't look like it's on an angle at all...just straight?
You really do need to bend it to face towards the front of the car otherwise it's going to be doing basically nothing.

yeh its just straight.I just left it at that for now until i can figure out a good way to have it facing forward.I could put an elbow on the bottom but i dont want it to stick out.

thing i was worried most about was water coming in when it gets really wet, in which case i probably wont drive it at all, but in terms of how low it sits id say the bottom of the bellmouth on mine, is about 2cm below the bottom of my front lip, not as much flow as i could get, but id say its at the perfect height to not be seen, painted matt black of course.

Where can you get the perspex from (noob question), and what did you bend it with if not a heatgun?
... i remember using perspex at school to make a pencil box lid..... but thats about my entire experience with the stuff.

yeah... not losing much flow there? i wasnt sure what to do about that, so i just got the biggest of the acceptable sized pipes i could get.

It doesn't need to face forwards to have an effect.. The intake SUCKS air in, so it'll be fine to leave it as is.

As to water getting in, don't stress so much, the amount that would actually get sucked up and make it into the engine after passing through the filter and resonator box by the t/b is very very minimal, unless of course you go dunking the entire mouth of it in water, but in that case, you deserve the engine to go pop. Subaru's aren't 4X4s. (Yes, some people do try to use them as 4X4s)
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

im not sure that that far down the line, over that area, that it would have any form of sucking effect, i was only under the assumption i would be getting more 'cold' air in, rather than just more air.

on that, i never actually drove my car with the resonator off without a pipe that ran down, is there any sound difference as opposed to just taking the resonator off? as in louder or quieter?

yep, no need to add more restriction in teh way of pipework, but a bellomouth will help flow
^^ i like that one!!

get some water into the intake charge is a good thing on a boosted car, water injection
