Panel Gap

Postby lukey » Mon May 30, 2011 3:28 pm

Hi fellow Liberty owners!

I had half my car resprayed about a month back and I noticed a few weeks ago they left quite a bit of a gap when putting the front bar back on. Is there an easy way to fix this myself? I know I could bring it back to them but I already got them to fix scratches in my tint so if its easy to do I'd rather fix it up myself. The other side has no gap.

Thanks
Luke.

Maybe re-read the post mate.

Take it back to whoever did the respray and get them to fix it.

Check the clips are all in correctly... If they are, and it's still not sitting evenly... I'd take it back...

About halfway between end of bumper and where the headlight starts there is a rail/notch and a slot in the bumper which it clicks into. Perhaps this wasn't lined up properly and is common when the bumper is not put back on with 2 ppl (it is quite bulky and flexes around).

You can try pushing the side of the bumper in firmly at about where I described to see if you can click the slot back into the rail.

Failing that and if you don't want to take the whole bumper off at home and realign it properly then take it back to the shop.

Yeh the gap is even but on the other side, including the rest of the panels of the car, they all fit perfectly flush without gaps.

Thanks for the advice teK I'll be sure to give it a go this week otherwise I'll bring it back to the shop. Thanks!
