Ignition light...

So, after the recent rise in people wanting little insignificant things changed on the car, thought i'd jump in..
I'd potentially like to change the green lit up ring around the key hole to red light.. I had a little fiddle and took the cover off the top of the steering column but the LED (?) seems to be under a little black cover deep inside the column.. it's probably the least important thing but considering the price of a new globe is so cheap, if it can be done with minimal effort, then I see it as worth it.. also i got the idea from a my03 rex sti which has a red ring..

anyway, just wondering if anyone else had a similar idea or had attempted something alike..
