Ok so test fitted the new HU & fascia (alla PHAT - cheers) & fits perfectly!! Only issue is that I require easy access to the navigation module for map updates etc etc

I had absolutely no idea where to hide the thing, then thought that it's ridiculous that a car of my age still has a ciggy lighter & a thousand ash trays so assumed I could afford to lose one. Can someone tell me how to remove the ash tray in the dash below the stereo? I've been fiddling for hours!!

Cheers,
Sean

PS - pictures to come :)

'Scuse the wires & rubbish everywhere, this is just a test fit. Will button it all up tomorrow & make it look nice and neat :) first real install I've done with the help of a mate... all done properly with soldering & heat shrink and the like :)

The difference in sound & quality with just swapping out the stock HU is incredible - will comment on the subs tomorrow after installing them.

All fitted & working.. Managed to flatten my battery in the meantime lol

The subs do the job - its not thumping bass but I think it gives me enough kick for now. Once budget isn't an objective I'll invest in an amp & sub fit out.
