Quick brake light mod

Postby tangcla » Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:53 pm

While I was replacing the globe for my brake light, I did a quick mod to wire in the upper light (park light) to be activated when the brake light is on as well.

All it took was a snippet of wire on either side, and I'm done.

Does that mean that when you put the brakes on, you have 21 watt bulbs as well as 5 watt bulbs illuminating?

When I turn my lights on, only the top two turn on. When I step on the brakes, the top two light up as well as the bottom two.
I guess there really isn't much point to it... just a little something different that cost me $0 and 5 minutes to mod, so why not :D

I also replaced my T20 globes with LEDs, which light up instantaneously.

if you join the top and bottom lights together shouldnt they technicaly both turn on when ever you put the brake on. but because there in a circuit together now wouldnt it also mean if you turn your parkers on that as they are linked to the brake lights that your parkers and brake lights would always turn on together. and if they did turn on together if you had your parkers on then put your foot on the brake would the lights stay the same brightness or would they get brighter onc ethe brake is pressed?

I think he's been waiting for a day when the lighting conditions are absolutely perfect to get the best photo. One day... ;)
