Wheel size clearance have question

Postby Egg » Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:42 am

G'day
I have an MY07 Spec B wagon and was wanting to fit some rims but have some questions about rim size and offsest.

What size rim can I get away with without rolling guards and lowering suspension as Im happy with the suspension set up. I was told due to thbe Subaru its hard to go any bigger than the 18x7.5 set up.

Im looking at a set of Work CR Kai rims but was wondering what size I can get away with?
As I like the big offsests as well.
Will 18x8 fit? and what offset can u get away with?
Will 18x8.5 fit? and what offset can u get away with?
( They do have 18x7.5 as this may have to be the safest bet)

any help appreciated, thanks

G'day egg

All the sizes you mentioned will fit and if you don't plan to lower the car you shouldn't have too many issues.

I've got the same car as you with 18 x 8.5 +38 (not lowered and standard guards still) but it does scrape fairly easy when the cargo area is full. tyres are 225/40.

+38 is a fairly low offset compared to most people on here.

If I were you id go for an 8 inch wheel in a highish offset like +45~50 if available. Shouldn't have any problems. A 235/40 may scrub but a 225/40 shouldn't.

Also have a look at the gen 4 wheels thread.

Hope this helps

P.s. Nice wheels you plan on getting...I got work emotions :P
