I've been telling Phat to get his own hotline. Something like 1-800-ASK-FAT. $5 the first minute and then $2 a minute after that.

What wheels did you have and what measurements and off set are they ?

And how did you come to the conclusion you needed 8mm to fit them on ?

sorry, i only just saw this post...

CE28NF 18x 7.5 +50

i pulled the wheels off someone's 04 STi and tried to bolt my wheels up to his car. after a test of a few different sized spaces, i worked out that i needed 8mm

Shesus Harry - you must have had your heart in your mouth for a few weeks there!

Offset of +55 is what I was told for any wheel to clear Brembo's, anything less will come down to the spoke design. Mine clear by about 1.5mm at they are +55 (same offset as the stock Enkie's).

+2 on the wanting to know the 'fix'. :D

Cheers

The only thing I can think of is to bleed out your brake calipers and push the pads and pistons out as far as they can go. Then add shims to where the calipers bolt onto (probably need only 2-3mm). This should give you 3-4mm caliper-to-wheel clearance which should hopefully be enough. Pressurize your brakelines again and bleed out any air from the system. I definitely wouldn't shave anything from the rims if you spent a lot of money on them. just my 2 cents.
