Dude, isn't the tune by Vin a good enough reason for you??? haha!! :D

From what I've heard supercharging generates too much heat and isn't worth the hassle:horsepower gain ratio. If you just want some good bottom end power - don't change the exhaust except for the mufflers and put a Halltech interceptor piggy backing onto the factory ECU and get it tuned by some one with experience in this dept' (like Paul Fisher at Pulseracing). This should change your power curves to somethig much more atractive and entertaining (~150++KW ATW and good bottom end torque). I don't know anything about the V-tune option so cannot comment/compare. However, changing/increasing exhaust diameter in NA engine - will cost you power, in my experience, intangeable though it may be, on the clock and against some wank in a Bogandore you'll feel it!!

The V-tune and injector clean is definately worth the $300. The torque curve is basically flattened at around 350nm from 2000ish. It made my car much more drivable and stopped it scaring the Mrs when the cams changed.

I haven't done much research into the auto other than talking to Vin and finding out the TCU is adaptive like the ECU, ie it learns how you drive and trys to adapt to suit. However, I'm pretty sure you could have a shift kit or the like installed to liven things up maybe even a higher-stall torque converter. You'd probably have to talk to an auto tranny specialist on that one.

I was happy with the car for a while, then I started to miss Horse power and was starting to wonder, Maybe I should have kept my old rex and tip cash in to that on a bullet proof rebuild and saved the rest of the cash.

I like the car but what I dont like in the auto is

a) when u put your foot down there is a massive pause before anything happens

b) lack of torque down low

apart from that Im happy If I could only fix the above problems.

Or maybe I should have bought a Stagea wagon and tip about 15 into that, that would have been fun I guess.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix these little probs with the Liberty down low and the auto?

See my results here http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.p ... c&start=12

Book it in now. It's not a miracle cure, but nothing short of serious engine worrk and serious coin is going to completely fix the issues. But for $300, this is a must do - even if you later decide to go the whole hog and bi-turbo it.

Dyno Tune by Vin @ Docklands STi +10-12KW and much better response. Got a 3.0R? Do it now.

Just putting it out there.
Has any body heard of this mob?
Don't shoot the messenger.... I thought it may interest some 3.0 owners.

Tim at Raptor is a really helpful bloke
He's the one helping me out with a kit for the 2.5i.

I should have mine all done by the end of the year, so can show whats involved etc.

No, he'll be sending the charger, and all required bits and pieces down.

Whole point of these kits is that they are DIYable.

I can only imagine the power a H6 with a charger on it would make. would be unbelievable
