ah right i knew it was something like that! i still cant decide on TMIC or FMIC.

There is a guy on Legacy gt selling powder coated FMIC for less than what the hyperflow costs, supposedly bolts on without the need to trim front bumper and can keep the standard intake too. Oh decisions.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of going front mount instead?

i got the Hyperflow in the post last week, im wondering it there anyway to make a screen or similar to protect the core fins for getting bent from stones or pebbles entering the scoop. Anyone put anything onto the engine cover to protect the aftermarket cores?

Thanks

I think I came across something on the forum about putting a mesh inside the bonnet scoop.
Can't quite remember though.

I have a hyperflow IC and even a cockatoo in the scoop did no damage. Mesh would only restrict the airflow and stones etc are of minimal concern!

I tried fitting mine today and have to say i wouldnt really call it "bolt-on" TMIC. I couldnt seem to get it to fit properly so the intercooler would sit snugly in the pipes at both side and still be able to use the two mounting points to secure the intercooler in place. ANyone else have this issue. Im still using standard pipes on both sides of the intercooler.

Also as far as trimming the engine over to fit, Can anyone tell me which bits need to be trimmed? It seems like the BOV mount makes that sit higher than stock too, maybe it will be fine once i figure out the best way to trim the cover

For the HKS TMIC the left side (if you facing it) needs to be trimmed to fit,and watchout for the intercooler air guide it may also need trimming...mine did some damage to the interccoler.

It should fit fine dan... my one fits really well.... lines up perfectly... after you do mount it, you need to trim the top of the engine cover and drill holes in the mounting plates too.....
