Need to wash car but have no shade? No problem!

Thought you guys would get a kick out the stupid length I went to so I was able to wash my car in shade today.

Connected it to the house and some random trees on our driveway

I actually wish I could have an undercover area to wash my car all the time, it was so much better washing it in complete shade instead of washing it when it's overcast / later in the day.

Annoying that I had to go to such lengths, but I wanted the car clean for tonight.

Also - washing in the sun isn't going to damage your paint per se, the problem is that products dry faster when exposed to sunlight, causing unnecessary effort to remove them.

I have always been under the impression that the water acts as a magnifying glass for the sun, and also putting cold water on a hot car is also bad for it. Not sure if either of those are true, but I know I wouldn't wash my car on a 30 degree day with no clouds unless I had shade, like the day was when I made that undercover spot.

Well put it this way, it's a lot nicer to be sweating in the shade than in the sun
Just spent today washing, claybarring, polishing and waxing both mine and my girlfriend's car. I'm knackered.
