That second one I can believe - long term load bearing elbow. It's the passenger door, and passengers don't generally care as much about the car so always do things like brush against the plastic trim scratching it and constantly do the same thing causing stress failures (in the materials not the driver, though that is possible too!)

I had someone get in my day old car and immediately put their feet (and shoes) up on the dash. Why yes, it was a woman. And no, it wasn't in that way.

i have the same thing in my car on the arm rest, and on the top part in front of the window on the drivers side only.
the guy i bought it off didnt have dogs but he was a big boy, so if anything i'd put it down to either a lot of pressure being pressed down while driving. or maybe even the sun when having the windows down.
if you find a fix apart from having to replace the whole door trim let me know.

It might pay to approach an interior repairer.
I had those dents on the doors of my car before I bought it, I told Subaru that I wasn't happy with it and wouldn't
buy the car because of it to which they told me they had an interior repairer that would fix it, anyway
long story short, Subaru managed to fix the doors without replacing trims or any parts and you wouldn't even know.
It looks brand new.
So there is obviously some way to flatten these back out.
Maybe even ask Subaru...

I broke up with my ex-girlfriend for that.
