Anyone been to Aukland?

Postby Blade Hunter » Fri Aug 20, 2010 9:42 am

I just got back from a holiday there, I can't believe how many B4's there are there, I know they don't pay duty on vehicle imports but bloody hell, every second car is either a B4, a Legnum or something similar, I have never seen so many B4's in one place in my life.

Only saw 1 MY10 GT in the entire 9 days I was there though.

I saw a Beautiful GOLD one there last year....matching wheels too....But I hired a 2002 wagon from Omega at very good rates, and despite being a bit worn inside never missed a beat.

They had a visitor from San Francisco once...he thought he was going to Oakland , but didnt seem think it odd that it took more than half an hour to get there...

New Zealand as a whole is an awesome country, done both the north and south islands. Loved everywhere, EXCEPT Auckland.

But yeah, I remember 2 years ago looking through the auto classifieds while waiting for my fush n chups. B4 on sale, 2002 model I think, bit over 100,000ks, $10 grand

Yep, leave Auckland. Grab a car and head anywhere but Auckland. Go north if you can - up around the Bay of Islands is lovely.

I wish someone told me all this BEFORE we went, I mean seriously it's kind of like going to Canberra for an 8 night holiday, it's kind of fun for a couple of nights but you run out of stuff to do pretty quick.

We hired a car for 4 days, headed north but didn't get to the bay of isles, we also drove to Piha (not sure if it is spelled like that but is pronounced peeha) beach which was kind of nice then to Stinky town (rotorua)

Rest of the time we ate at the restaurants Auckland has to offer which I can really only liken to Parramatta, they are "OK" but not brilliant. Seriously though, if you advertise a steak with crab meat stuffing, don't put fucking seafood extender inside it because its disgusting :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

I live in Auckland, it's a good place to live but I'm not sure why you would visit for a holiday?
