Oil Analysis Report
4. INTERPRETATION and RECOMMENDED ACTION:
All wear levels appear within acceptable limits for first sample. Silicon level is most likely due to seal and gasket material reaction
with the lubricant. Water content acceptable. Fuel dilution satisfactory. Viscosity within specified operating range.
Action: Resample at next recommended interval to monitor and establish wear trend.

This is a copy of the results to my second analysis using the same oil, the only difference being the addition of a HKS air filter. I can't track down the first analysis but the only difference is the Silicon level which suggests that the HKS filter is not exactly great, letting thru too many contaminants (Filter has been checked for correct installation and has a good seal). Needless to say I will be probably be going back to the standard filter again because the only thing the HKS does is produce a bit more noise
I've just had the 100K service done and I have put Amsoil fully synthetic in to try (got it at a good price). Have read many good reports about this oil but am reserving judgement until I get the analysis done but after dropping the Amsoil (M/C specific) out of my bike last night I'm not that confident (came out like water after only 1100klms and it was a 20W50
What do you use? What weight? Why that one?
Incidentally I have Amsoil Heavy Duty in the diffs and the gearbox (5sp man) so will see how that goes too.
