pretentious cars

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

I was looking through an old unique cars mag, and someone was selling an F650 for $335,000.....
What a joke.

You mean the 'Cygnet'?

I think the Boxster has to be included - for when one cannot afford a proper 911.

Considering the entry level Boxter will set you back 115k & it now does 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds, I can't see anything wrong with that.

Yes, people buy Boxters as a bit of a statement (As with many other cars) as various brands bring with it a certain image & social status with it... But to say it's because they can't afford a 911, well me thinks that's going too far... Same with the 135i being a poor mans M3. Faark, next thing we'll be saying is that buying a Subaru is a poor man's Porsche! What a load of rubbish!

What happens if you want a small car with good looks & with poke? Is that not what the 135i is?

What happens if you want a good quality sports car? Is that not what a Porsche Boxter is? Is that not what a SLK Merc is?

Wash your mouth out :P

They are actually a good little sporty car (Especially the AMG version)... It's just that it's not as good as other cars on the market. In fact, I remember reading a review where there was a TTS, SLK 350 & standard Boxter... SLK I'm pretty sure was the fastest in a straight line, but the Porsche was quicker around the track by around 1 second.

Not sure how I stumbled onto photos of it online but I think the epitomy would be the Ford F650

Seriously, check them out. I think they are a full class above the GMC truck used as Ironhide in the Transformers fillums (GMC Medium Duty Truck, from memory)
Now that I'm in North America, I'm greatly concerned about raised pick-up trucks and owners of wedge shaped vehicles. Seriously, not only do you have to be concerned about one hitting you in an accident, they stand a good chance of driving over you at the same time!
