80K's KM service?

Postby vp920b » Mon Jul 19, 2010 3:40 pm

Hi all,

I just wondering about 80 K's service.

What needs to be done? My car already 78100 Kilos. So maybe next month will do 80K's service.

Then how about brake fluid? Is it need to be flush? And can I change to DOT 4 brake fluid?

I feel that my brake pedal seem to be a bit deep (not really sensitive in brake and I want good braking power). Is it from the fluid? Or what? I recently changed the brake pads to Bendix General CT, around 1.5 months ago.

Thanks

Naldo

Hi Naldo,

can't go past Ross Fraser at Cromwood Autos in Burwood...

all our out-of-warranty servicing is done by Ross... he uses genuine parts, and charges bucket loads less than Subaru

Thanks

not sure Naldo, but to give you a comparison to Subaru, for my Forester XT, the 100k service is scheduled at $1600, and at mates rates, I could have got it at $1400...

Ross did it, including genuine parts for just over $800....

Just did my 80,000 KM service.

This time pretty cheap, since I want my brake fluid to change to DOT 4 and spark plugs. Oil, wiper blades, adjusting hood, pedal noise everything fixed.

Costs $250.

But I want to know about the sealing something in the Spark Plug.

It says now my spark plug sealant and gasket need to be change on the next service since it contains a bit oil. and it will costs around $250.

Is it that expensive?

Thanks

I think sealed by something I guess? Not really sure. Maybe the crush washer.

Is that thing really costs $250?

Subaru specialist. It's in Box Hill, from the first time I bought the car I always service at that place.

Did a good job but sometimes a bit rip off.

Why?

Well, if you can save at least $50 or maybe $100, then I can save my money to installing my Billies or maybe buy more detailing stuff for your car mate. hehe. :D
