MY04/07 HU differences in 3.0R-B

Hi all,
Im looking at buying a 3.0R-B and have done a fair bit of reading on the forums as to what im looking for. Basically im thinking its definitely a go-er, but i do have a few questions in regards to the head unit in these.
I know its a Mac HU but whats the diff between say a MY04 and a MY07 HU?
Im guessing the MY04 has no MP3 compatibility (to me is a neigh neigh).
So whats the best way to go about it?

Also, I know a whole bunch of you have connected the Ipod adaptor to your Stock HU's but as of recent times im not sure what works and what doesnt.

Clarion EA1251 or (if you can get it).
Clarion EA1276 (can be sourced from Suzuki of all places)

Does anyone do a CeNet interface that does both USB and IPod?
Has anyone bought either the CCA ipod interface or the EA1276 on a pre MY07 HU and can confirm it still works?

My other total option is to can the mac altogether and put an aftermarket HU in but then lose steering controls and have to get a custom fascia etc (costing big $$$)

go aftermarket heaps better...also whats wrong with the focus upgrading or downgrading?

Oh im not selling the focus
getting rid of the missus car, she'll get the focus and i get the bigger car!
Yeah i thought about swapping the HU but its sounds very messy...
Cant get the fascia easily, dont know anyone who does a steering adaptor for it, and then there is the mess of rewiring the deck coz of the mac amp under the seat.
To me its just easier getting a ipod controller and be done with it. as for bluetooth kit etc, I have a Nokia BT kit ready to install in the car

Does the CCA-IPOD work with the MY04/05 head unit?

Import Monster Facia

And then something like this
GPS and MP3 Player
What is required to make it talk to the steering wheel and speakers well?

I'm OK with nuts and bolts but not great with wires and pins!
