235/40 on an 8.5 45 offset will be very close to the guard if not rubbing on a lowered car with neutral camber but will probably be okay on standard suspension.

don't forget the fact coilovers are phsyically smaller than normal shocks aswel

My coilovers rubbed on the stock wheels with 225/40 tires. Stock suspension was okay.
