G'Day Q,

Same as the one I got, you must have got one out of that faulty batch.

Send it back with an explanation and they'll end up refunding, it is annoying though that you have to wear the re-post fee.

Hopefully they won't charge postage if they get new ones with the 3.5mm jack where it should be.
Now that I'm in North America, I'm greatly concerned about raised pick-up trucks and owners of wedge shaped vehicles. Seriously, not only do you have to be concerned about one hitting you in an accident, they stand a good chance of driving over you at the same time!

G'Day Woodduck,

They were pretty good about it with me, it took about 3 days for them to respond.

Their response detailed what I should do when I repacked it and sent it back, my first e-mail to them did have a few pics of what was wrong so they didn't really have a leg to stand on.

I didn't need to do the dispute thing, as soon as they received it back in the US, they refunded me automatically and gave me that response I posted earlier.

So yer, aside from the $20 odd to repost it, it was rather painless.

Unfortunately the seller is not replying to emails so I've had to start the paypal claim process. Would have been good to listen to some music apart from the radio!!

After a while i raised a paypal claim aswell. He ended up writing back and saying that he will send me the extra cords (RCA and 3.5) but i replied and told him the entire thing didnt work. He wrote straight back and said he had giving paypal permission to go ahead with the refund. Didnt have to send it back or anything which was good. Still would have preferred to have actually had a working product though. :(

Sounds like with all the problems people are having with getting a working EA1251 form the US its safer to go with the Axxess AIP-CL-ID. Who's got one fitted and how is it?

With the Axxess AIP-CL-ID can the McIntosh CD stacker still be plugged in or does it replace the stacker completely? I cant tell from the picks.

G'Day Gunna,

The thingo I got from the States was the Axxess bit of kit.

As I was being a tight arse, I went for the Axxess over the Clarion.

I'm not sure about others but I utilised the link to the e-bay post that was earlier in this forum posting and you ended up at an e-bay trader selling the (well, faulty) Axxess units.

Who knows, maybe it is just the current batch they have withdrawn from sales that is the issue and in the future, it may be sorted.

Still trying to clarify so I don't waste my time and money ordering the wrong thing.

Some body correct me if I'm wrong. The Clarion EA1251 13P iPOD MP3 RCA AUX INPUT MODULE talked about in this post (with both an ipod/iphone and 3.5mm aux input) which people are ordering from ebay US is a different version to the Clarion EA 1251 that some people are using which has the issue with needing to play music through playlists.

So what is the difference physically (cable ends - aux, rca, ipod/iphone) and technically (when ipod/iphone conection is used plays music and charges) between the Axxess AIP-CL-ID iPod® And 3.5mm Aux - For Clarion and the new version Clarion EA1251 13P iPOD MP3 RCA AUX INPUT MODULE from ebay US? Or are they both identical?

And I'm still confused as to which model people are getting from the US which are faulty and/or missing particular cables. And who the seller is to avoid this.

For those who prefer to buy local here is a Oz supplier of the Axxess AIP-CL-ID iPod® And 3.5mm Aux - For Clarion

From what i can tell all of the US ebay ones are faulty! The seller to avoid is ebay seller ipod-world-wide, but when i was buying mine he was the only person selling the cable (i assume the others realised they were faulty and withdrew all their items). Hope this helps. Pretty much, dont bother buying one.

OK, so dont get the EA1251 from ebay US.

What about the Axxess one from the US site audio discounters or the Oz site in my previous post? Or are they no good either?
