Good luck guys! These are hard to come by because they don't make them in aluminium anymore. MY07+ onwards saw the bonnet move to steel (heavier).

Are you saying Subaru do not have stock of these? They did six months ago - and in aluminium too.

Cadud, isn't your insurance company dealing with this? or is that a bad question?

Subaru would still be stamping out bonnets from the 2003 MY04+ Models, they need to have spare parts for a minimum 7 years. I work for ford, and theres still stamping out Spare parts for the BA/BF Models.

All parts are available, but it all comes down to pulling out the wallet.

LOL! Looks like my smash repair place didn't want to spend extra on the aluminium. :?

Insurance?

Aren't they meant to return the car to pre-damaged condition?

Is the bonnet the same for pre- and post-facelift?

Should be the same fit. Just different metals.

To get a bonnet custom made in either titanium or silicon carbide (which they make turning tips out of for high speed lathe/ mill maching), sounds ridiculous, and veryyy pricey!! - And all this for saving a few kilos...?

Perhaps, eat a little less maccas, and concentrate on losing the fat around ur mis-section, its free - and ur care will perform better too :P

it was a joke... you know from when Clarkson was reviewing the Porsche Carrera GT and kept creaming himself everytime he mentioned silicon carbide? Also - I HAVE lost fat around my mid-section: 16kg to be exact, since Jan last year :bb:
