Thanks Michael, brakes have arrived.

Quick installation question...I assume I use the standard shims (i think thats what they are called) and use the paste provided under the first shim then just slot back into place? Or do I not really need to worry about the paste?

you need to use those shims and use the paste beteen the pad and the shim

AND PLEASE BED IN SLOW (NORMAL DRIVING) for a day if you dont want then to squeal

i would recommend you have the rotors skimed before using new pads

Hi Mike,
Have tried to PM you but I can't get it out of my 'outbox'.

My My08 TB STI is coming up for a service and looks like I will need to change the front rotors and pads (definately front possibly rear). Everyone is raving about the Dixcell gear. I would appreciate your advise on what to get. This is our daily driver and the wife drives it most of the time.

Maximum Motorsport have suggested DBA4000 slotted rotors/Bendix pads, but are the Dixcell better

Any idea on cost/availability would be great

Cheers

The Dixcels kick Bendix in the balls, stood Bendix back up, and kicked it in the balls again. :D But to be fair most places have never heard of Dixcels so they're not going to recommend it. Most of the Liberty owners on this forum have used Dixcels, and highly recommend them. Good stopping. Low dust. No noise. :P

Dixcel Brake Pads - go get them now

Postby GTB Liberty » Wed Sep 08, 2010 5:18 pm

Well, another thanks to Phat. Oredered the Dixcel's for the standard Subaru two pot front calipers. Arrived promptly, installed and OMFG; the car stops so much better now. Have had to practically remove my face imprint from the front windscreen a couple of times  Much better bite than the OEM from Subaru and much better stopping with less effort.

Starting to wonder what Subaru used for the OEM pads - sponge?

Thanks again Michael.
