Hi,
John French at Woolloongabba, or if you feel like travelling, A&M Performance up Noosa way.

May I ask why you had your heads recoed?
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Depends where you are in Brisbane mate

Quality work AM Auto @ Noosaville & John French are the picks of Subaru specialists, the later make sure you have a pocket full of money though!
others that can do it are the guys at Subi Evolution @ Brendale and PMS @ Slacks Creek http://www.pms.net.au/

cheers
Steve

Make sure you have your tensioner bolts checked or replaced. They just snap otherwise apparently.

Hah, I just had my heads done too. What did you have done in the reco. I had my short side radii smoothed and a 7 angle (yep 7) valve job. Can't wait to see how it goes with the new lightened solid flywheel as well. Valves are stock size. I have the 206kw jap spec legacy and it already went very well I am hoping it'll still run like a clock.

What sort of b1tch were those bloody exhaust sheild bolts to get off when pulling the motor? I couldn't believe them!

Mine has done 130kms and the insides of the bores still look like new with the original cross hatching all the way down! How did yours look?

Did you get Sub bolts, arp or permaseal?

Cheers

I was talking head bolts. You have to replace them. There are a variety of options. I got the permaseal ones but they looked like $1 galbv bolts you get from a bunnings store. So I took them back and ended up getting stock bolts.

I am in Adelaide and Tony Knight (Knight Engines) did my heads.

The AVCS cam pulleys are a mongrel without a rattle gun. Your old man did very well to get them off.

I have taken the opportunity to do everything on the car while the motor is out. Diff, box, pwr steering and brake fluid replacement, new pads all round, new clutch, new flywheel, timing belt, tensioner and idlers, fan belts, coolant, oil and filters. Overall a pretty expensive service. Should be pretty right for another 100K now!

Not sure if you have this sorted already but if not, you could give Dan Kent at Elite Racing Developments a go, he's in Stapylton/Yatala and a lot of people in the Skyline scene regard him as a good honest bloke who knows his stuff.

He's pretty much built whole cars for friends, including ~600whp time attack cars. IMHO he's worth a call, I reckon he'd be able to help you out :) Tell him Revhead referred you... he might look after you, he might double the price :P
