Most of my suspension mods. "Lowering" was the only mod that they advised I was permitted to have. Better to be safe than sorry I was not going to risk having an accident then they get out of the claim on a technicality that my aftermarket swaybars caused me to lose control of the car.

That, plus I have not heard that good things about AAMI's method of appointing a repairer. I do not want my pride and joy sent to the lowest bidder to be repaired.

A 225/35/19 with the guards rolled will be perfect Alex.
What brand tyres are they offering?
There's a few guys on the forum who know heaps about tyres and will definitely let you know which brands will be suitable and which ones will be shit.

They are offering Achilles ATR tyres...

We have a family friend who owns a wholesale tyre centre and can get me cheap tyres. He usually gives me Federals...

So i dunno if i just buy the package for $2250, or buy the rims for $1650, and get the tyres off him.

Also, tempe tyres told me they are getting these rims in 8 weeks so they are also an option...

Although you won't be racing them, you shouldn't put cheap tires on your not so cheap car. At least get medium range tires, as top of the range would probably be a waste as well if you're not planning to track the car.

And be careful of medium range brands that are too cheap. Shops are usually trying to get rid of tires near the end of their shelf life.

I had Achilles ATRs on my car when i bought it. I thought they were downright dangerous, so took them off very quickly.

If you were just tootling around the city they would be maybe ok, maybe. But if you doing any spirited driving at all - steer clear. I reckon the handling was worse in the dry than the wet they were that bad. Didn't appear to wear much though on the up side...

I know you really want to get all your suspension and wheels and everything done at once, but just wait another month until you can afford to get better tyres. EDIT: Safety should always be 2nd priority, behind street cred.

225/35/19 will keep your speedo correct. i have the the atr sports which are a copy of a bridgestone and have found them to be very good wet or dry have done over 30000km so far
