Sure 2000 is a lot of money to some people but it doesn't get you far when you want to modify so many things at once. You are better off doing things properly first time and mod your car progressively

Lowering for 400 is definately doing it on the cheap. Quality springs cost around 500 to 600 and then you have fitment cost, wheel alignment, and likely need to fit alignment correction kits depending how your car turns out (most cars will need a camber adjustment kit on the back which is around $100 in itself).
