AVO front mount install

Postby SUB4RU » Wed Nov 18, 2009 4:52 pm

Hey all,

Can anybody confirm that the AVO frount mount kit bolts on without changing to a smaller battery size or moving washer bottles or anything like that? What exactly is required to fit it?

PS. Not finding AVO very helpful at the moment.

Thanks

Yeah they make it sound good but as far as i can see, something would need to be moved to get the cooler pipe up around the battery and back to the engine...I don't want to order it just to find I have to buy a small expensive odyssey battery again just to get a pipe past and move washer bottles around etc. I bought this liberty cos there is finally bolt on options, custom is overrated!

People on this site have the AVO front mount i am pretty sure?!? Confirmation please.

Also, good to see AVO has finally started adding products into they MY07-MY08 section, except at a higher price than they were in the MY06 section :(

^ what he said.

The AVO silicon intake pipe is the funniest, they said it'd fit without taking the manifold off - my friend got his car done from them, and they took off the manifold :D

So you are required to relocate the battery into boot? And even after that...the pipes didn't fit? Sounds like I will have to go custom again. What other front mount kits are there...if any?

alternatively you could go with an aftermarket TMIC such as AVO or Hyperflow

Yeah, considered that but not sure how effective they will be with an upgraded turbo and the heat increase that it will bring to the engine bay. Heatsoak still an issue with the aftermarket top mounts? I presume there is otherwise ARITH wouldn't have changed over to a FMIC

This is a great idea for those who need it. Only reason I got the FMIC is that it got way too hot for drag racing.

Did you get the AVO FMIC kit and then just get custom piping done? Was it done on the coast?
