G'Day Guys,
I can help with the Elcipse side of things, the boss has just got me to price one up to go into a Forrester.
(Yep, Government job)
The unit is about $1800 to $2100 to buy (I'm in Sydney)
The labour is a killer though if you are paying someone to do it, with the Liberty and all the various speakers (not being changed over but reworking them with crossovers and wiring back to the amp etc), steering wheel integration, I-Pod control, steering wheel controls, fascia and reversing camera I'd say that about $4000 - $4500 would be a fair price.
Tangcla, how do you find viewing the GPS at the lower (factory) location? It is a major sticking point for me but I think I'm making too big a deal of it.
I'm personally considering removing the cubby, mounting a unit that fits a 7" double DIN space but DOESN'T have a flipping screen, getting one of those CE-NET thingos that takes RCA input and feeding the signal from the unit into the factory MAC unit and letting it do all the sound handling...it's not exactly a simple way to do it as I am running 2 systems but it will be easier to dismount at sale time and I get a GPS / MP3 player at a higher height. Only thing I'm not sure about is whether I have enough mounting depth in there, knowing my luck, probably not!
Either way, the pictures looks sweet
Now that I'm in North America, I'm greatly concerned about raised pick-up trucks and owners of wedge shaped vehicles. Seriously, not only do you have to be concerned about one hitting you in an accident, they stand a good chance of driving over you at the same time!
