Postby SillySora » Wed Oct 28, 2009 9:58 am

So I had all intentions of getting a 50 shot of nos in it however was a complete dick around with insurance for QLD as I only wanted to take the bottle out and leave the rest in it.

So now I'm Getting this should all be done in about 4-6 weeks.

ENGINE REBUILD

CP Forged Pistons
Argo Rods
ARP Main Stud Kit
ARP Head Stud Kit
Metal Headgaskets
Subaru Gasket kit
Subaru timing belt & bearings
Race Series Bearings

Professional Machining, Balancing & Short engine assembly

Oversize Stainless Valves
Heavy Duty Valve Springs
High Spec Camshafts (set of 4)
Oversized Head Stud option
Close deck the block and sleeve the cylinders
Port and Polish Intake and Exhaust Chambers

Also too this List I sent the 5 speed Gear Box too MV Automatics which got a Shift Get and 3500 High Stall Convertor.

Will post results looking to Run 25-28 PSI.

Now I'm poor :(

(Added small vid on dyno when running in apparently the motor goes a bit lean so getting retune a 22psi and another vid.

That's pretty much what I figured, but should be a huge leap forward in terms of power. Running 25-28 psi should produce some serious HP & Nm numbers.

One thing that I have found is that Big Numbers don't mean good times :).

But this setup will take advantage of the Avo 450 turbo plus the auto upgrade should have good results. Well I hope.

Sounds decent mate, this is a bit closer to the level of mods I'm used to seeing! Make sure you spend the time and money on getting decent headwork done, the gains you can make from optimising flow through the head are fantastic, and if you're running a CR low enough to need 2 bar of boost you'll want to get that turbo spinning as early as possible. I see you mention oversized valves and machined chambers but not sure if that means you're doing the ports too, I'm guessing yes but just in case... :P

Also, just curious - is that turbo big enough to take full advantage of the forgies/head work/cams?

Pics or somewhere on here some with the 20's and some with the 18 Sti :)

The Turbo can support up too 30 psi. So I hit full boost at 3600 I think so with the 3500 Stall Should be a nice 60ft and1/4 mile time.

I rang a lot of people about the 5 speed :( I mean A lot. MV Automatics are the only people to say yep straight away and have done a couple. I know they are pretty good in the Toyota side of things. Also said yeah most people won't touch the 5 or 6 speed :)

Hope all is good cost me 1200 for shift kit stall converter and freight.
