Postby hin249 » Fri May 01, 2009 1:20 am

Just a silly idea abt this suggestion~~
Sounds a bit crazy but dont shoot me

Does anyone think abt a Largest cruise meet up between the VIC, NSW & SA border? Like meet up @ Griffith~~ or around there
~500km East from Adelaide, ~500km West from Sydney & 450km North from Mel

It's hard enough getting our local guys to cruise 15k's from home let alone 500 !

Good luck with it though.

There was discussion about this some time last year, but it never went anywhere.

Let's focus on getting meets happening in each state first. :P

The mountain is open, with free entry, and they're opening one run and lift for just this weekend because of the unexpected snowfall.

(I'm actually going up to check the heating system in a club lodge I'm a member in, if the lodge-manager can't sort it out on Saturday.)

I'd be up for a big meet up (As would some of the other Sydney boys)... But it would need a lot of planning & also give everyone heaps of notice.

Being that sort of distance, it would probably need to be an over night trip as well...

Go a little more west and you'd be here 8) I wouldnt have to drive anywhere

Dude, you might wana check your calculations...Adelaide is 450-500 ks from Mildura...so add the extra 300-350ks to griffith and your looking at 800+ ks lol. And you're about 100-150ks out of your estimation from sydney lol. Melbourne is pretty spot on though 8) One out of three aint bad haha!

I know this might seem a little selfish... But perhaps we should look at somewhere like Bathurst (Closer for me! :P )

But at least it a car lovers icon & a great photo opportunity :D Accomodation would be easy & seeing as Syd / NSW members seem to have the most numbers, at least we would be assured of a good turn out :D

Of course, would still have to be done at a time that suits as many as possible & yeah.

Anyway, just food for thought.

It's definitely a do-able idea. The Gen 1 Liberty RS boys over at rsliberty.org are into their second annual national meetup.

http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=82106

They had a great turnout last year in Wollongong, and the lineup this year in Canberra looks even better. Obviously they have a much more established group, but it's something we could look into in the future.

Those members in Canberra, keep an eye out for the boys in town this weekend. Lots of nice RS's around.[/url]
