QLD: Driver Training

Postby LIBER8ED » Tue Jul 10, 2007 5:45 pm

Hey trendsetters, im posting this on behalf of someone else.. by all means, check out the link yourself @ http://www.ozliberty.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5288

but for those of you not members, here is the long and short of it... So far......

OK guy's, I thought we could try something a little different, so I made a call to a driver training school.
I know we'd all like to think we know how to drive like Schumacher but in reality we are really fairly ordinary steerers with the exception of moir.
There are two potential options at the moment:
1)Mt Cotton
2)Willowbank
Mt cotton has very strict noise regulations around the skid pan but not so strict at the LVMA so I don't think many of us would be allowed to drive there, and yes they do check for excessive exhaust noise. 90dBa max at any revs and 70dBa at the property boundaries. Paul, Jarrod and I wouldn't get on for sure.
Willowbank is a fair way out and isn't burdoned with these same restrictions so is probably the better bet.
I'm just waiting for some information to come through from the training centre regerding pricing, training and dates available. Hopefully the options may be something like a bit of track work, and motokahana etc.
Pricing for the LVMA at Mt Cotton is around $1100 with a maximum of 12 cars, just to give you guys who may be interested and idea of cost.
As soon as I know more I'll post up.
Does anyone think this might be a bit of fun?

Hi guys,
Well Morgan Park is the prefered location and we have to get numbers quickly to secure the location.
We can talk about the money later, but don't worry, I won't forget to talk about it.
Whoever wants the info I recieved, I can e-mail it to you. And if you don't care and just want to come post up.
We probably have room for about 15-20 cars so I'd like to offer it to or members first and then perhaps to other forums.
COMMING:
Me(see if I can stay on the track)
Buddylove(lets get this car dirty)
Supruac(lets get that raw power tamed on the track)
988OXR(its OK we'll give you a head start)
liber8ed(you have to bring enough ear plugs for everyone)
GTAndy(might teach you to keep up on cruises)
TUN35(this will get you used to your new car very quickly)
ROL14(someone bring the barf bag)
Dirty Sanchez77(We've never met, but you username tells me heaps)
adam_RSturbo(if not pissed should do well)
Kneedragger(It'll be good to meet you, and your gen4)

What's actually being organised, other than the hire of the track?

Thanks for emailing the info. It would be quite interesting. I've just checked my roster though, and I'm working that day, so I won't be able to attend.
