Group Buy

Group Buy

Postby scottmcphee » Tue Aug 13, 2013 1:20 pm

I'm offering a group buy for Tap Turn to members of this board.
(What's Tap Turn? check this out: http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=23277)

I wanted to do something a bit different, and have a little fun with this group buy. Here's the deal:

- list price is $79 USD, but we want to do better than that right?
- each participant who commits to buy lands on a list here, bringing the buy price down by one more dollar
- so the first joiner will set the new price at $78 (which is a 1.26% discount)
- joiner #2 will bring the price down to $77 (which is another 1.28%)
- everybody already on the list will enjoy the new lower price
- this continues with each additional person who joins, bringing the price down for all by another $1
- as you can see, the % discount increases per new joiner
- this can continue up to 20 joins, maximum cap of the group buy
- if you want to buy more than one, fine, each unit you take counts as another join dropping the price accordingly
- Max 3 units per member / envelope (address) please, just so one person doesn't corner a market

Joiners just add their name to this thread, with a post "me too" or whatever. State your quantity if more than one, up to 3.

You must live in Australia, or nearby. You must be a member on this club forum.

Every once in a while, I will formalize the list and state the screen names of those who are in.

There is a maximum number of units set aside for this deal. 20 units. This means there could be up to 20 joiners in the group buy if everyone took 1 unit. And this would achieve a set price of $59 per unit for each and every participant.
This represents over 25% discount.

Here's the best part ... if there are 15 or more joiners (15 units) then the currency flips from USD to AUD!!
That's right... when the 15th person joins, the set price moves from USD$65 to AUD$64 and price stays in AUD from there on as price continues to drop up to the max units of 20. (Currency exchange is such right now this represents about another 10% discount).

This group buy will be time limited... and will not extend beyond August 2013. So that people who want this can get on with enjoying Tap Turn.

Shipping is fixed at USD$10 per participant no matter your quantity purchased, and will be added to your total. This is what I actually pay post Tap Turn to Australia. If you buy more than one, I will combine all into one envelope (one address) and shipping stays at USD$10. (If we get to the point of flipping to AUD, then shipping becomes AUD$11 added to the bill).

I'll announce the closing price at the cut off of this group buy.

Winners are to pay using PayPal.

Non-payers... well, do we need to go there?! That would shatter the price. So if you post here, that's a commit to buy.

Right now, nobody has joined the group buy so the price is $79.

You can order off my web site for this price :| , or put your name here and take one for less at the close of this group buy.

If you wish to participate, post your "I'm in" reply message to this thread... rather than PM me to death.

Make your intentions public here so people can track the moving discount with better transparency.

Thanks

I'm in!

Can we decide on an end date? I would love to get it for 59 but if it means waiting 3 Months I'd just buy it now.
I propose to close the first round August 31st.

Edit: dammit I should read more... Haha

This thread is just about the mechanics and progress of a group buy.

See that referenced thread to learn about the product, and we can handle Q&A about product, features, Installation, etc... Over there.

cha-ching!! cha-ching!!

We're already 1/5 the way to max quantity of this group buy.

And more than 1/4 the way to the big currency exchange rate cliff.
