hi
my names warrick & i am completely new to subaru's.i have been a holden man all my life but your never to old to change.my son has been into turbo cars(skylines,180sx,monaro turbo),& has basicly convinced me to give one a try.i have at the moment a 6ltr VE Calais V with some work,252kw at the wheels & 660nm torque, which i'm selling & looking to get a 2008 liberty 2.5gt auto.will be a big change i know but i'm looking forward to it.i have to say i have spent the last week going through hundreds of threads on this forum & i am mightily impressed by what i've found so far!i will be doing a little modding to help the liberty along, but nothing radical.i thought :1.panel filter & remove resonator from air box,2.a phat gt dp,3.perhaps a new centre section, but i dont want it to increase in volume very much,4.mufflers?only if necessary,5.turbo intake hose & maybe tmic,6.tune,7.springs/shocks,maybe,8.rims/tyres.
some help as far as brands for these items would be a great.these items will take time/money but that is the target.would the order i have these listed be about right as far as the performance items are concerned?has anyone tried the eibach springs & shocks?i have had these in other cars & been very happy with them,so if they work on the liberty i might have a look at them.
anyway thats what i am about & i look forward to chatting with you guys.thanks in advance for any help.
cheers
warrick

Welcome to the mad house. V8 man here. Not a convert to Turbo, but the AWD is unbeatable. You will always have a soft spot for bottom end torque and the note that only a cammed V8 can give... The good thing is, the GT is a totally different car mate. The first hard corner / roundabout / kink (you get the idea) in the wet, or even the dry and you'll question the whole rear drive layout... That is, until you want to control the corner with the accel, then you'll wish you had the V8 again.... LOL.

Basically, the RS4... :D :D :D...

By the way, your mods are all good - you will see some nice gains with those. Typically, most of us have done intake, exhaust (various amount of exhaust mods from DP to tip or bits in between), and then tune. Always tune after all new engine mods. Wheels, suspension etc are all up to you when they're done, but just make sure that one suspension and new wheels go on, get and AWD alignment done.

Enjoy the Lib world mate!

PS - never to old!! :good:
