Name: Russell (Russ)
Ride: 2001 Liberty B4. White.
Location: Geebung, Brisbane, QLD
Mod: Slotted DBA rotors up front and HID head lamps
Plans: Suspension is on its way out as well as the exhaust so they are on the list. Ultimately want to get the ECU Flash done. Probably by Christmas this year
Occupation: Petroleum Engineer
Year of birth: 1984 (26)
Interest: Photography
Previous Rides: Daihatsu Charade (94). I know you're laughing, first car, but it was awesome fun. Faded red paint and all.
Mainly work cars since (working in regional areas). Cruisers, Hilux's etc.
Also currently own a 1996 Hyundai Excel which i am planning on setting up to race in the excel series running in Queensland. Stock cars no mods are the basic rules.

Figured I'd lurked around here long enough without introducing myself.

Originally from Sydney I moved to Brisbane at the start of this year after far too long working the middle of no where and decided i needed a car. Always had a soft spot for Subaru's and wanted to avoid WRX's. Came across a B4 one day during my search and well..... here I am.

As above I'll need to get the suspension and exhaust done sometime soon and the ultimate aim with the car will be getting a reflash done. I am open to (in fact would welcome) any advice or tips any of you have in terms of people or places to get the work done or what avenues to pursue. Also need to track down a mechanic on the north side if anyone knows of any good ones.

welcome . . . and don't worry about the Charade. The ex had one and for a 3 cylinder less than 1 litre it went like a bat out of hell ;)

My wife had one when I first met her. That was a fun car to drive. I wish we still had it :)

At one stage we had a timing belt snap, and ruin the head.
The people who replaced the head screwed up re-connecting the dozens of vacuum hoses, so the turbo boost was crappy.
The model was so rare, even Daihatsu Australia didn't have a good diagram of how they should all be connected.

Here's where I tracked down a similar model and tried to copy it. It wasn't succesful, as that was a JDM one which was a bit different.
I eventually found an identical model in a used car lot, and they let me park the two cars side by side and move all my hoses to match theirs :)
