And another MY10

Introduce yourself

And another MY10

Postby rrussh » Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:28 pm

G'day Guys,

I though i'd stop lurking and finally sign up!
Allow me to introduce myself,
I'm Henry but you can call me Black Rain, Mr Big, Well Hung, whatever im happy with all of them [makes up for my shortcomings, pun intended].
I'm known as rrussh on the other Subie forums from the past.

Bit of info (trying to keep to the Introductions proforma)
I have an MY10 Liberty GT which I picked up in December, its probably one of the first batches made as its a September 2009 build.
So yes ill probably experience all the niggling bugs that usually come with a brand new model, so far they have been minor and will be covered under warranty (when I bother to take it in one day).

My car is your stock GT with Auto, after driving in Sydney peak hour traffic for 10 years in a manual i basically had enough and demanded an Auto. Now I can drive from my place to the CBD with one hand on the wheel and the other on my Jumbo Skim Cuppachino comfortably :D

Back in December I narrowed it down to 2 cars, a late 2007 HSV Senator in EVOKE [Dark Grey] or the Lib GT. It was a hard choice for me as my heart wanted the Senator but the Liberty was much better as a total package. It was like comparing a mid priced hooker in the cross for the girl next door, I obviously went for the girl next door.

Im in the process of getting a HKS exhaust for my car, havent orded it yet but will do this through PhatGT once I sus it all out.
I might put a rear lip spoiler on the... well rear...to break up the really fugly rear end. I dont know what those Liberty designers were smoking but seriously guys get yourselves some better sh*t next time.
I would like to put in a CAI kit for some induction sound, but i dont want to be too loud, overall it still needs to behave like a Liberty.....all class.

I work in the I.T sector...yawn.... but I have a passion for electronics, gadgets, A\V, etc, etc.
Im 30 years old now....and now a little older.......and older again........

My Wife and I are Subaru Fans and between us have owned 5 Subies, we actually met through the NSW WRX Club many many years ago.
Previous Rides: 77 Torana 4.2l, Laser TX3, VR SS Commonwhore, NISSAN X-TRAIL, MY03 WRX, 77 Torana SS, 99 Forry GT

I would like to see what other MY10 owners will start doing to their vehicles in the quest for more performance.....
Looking forward to meeting your guys via the posts and also on any Sydney cruises\drive days, bingo nights , etc. :D

Cheers,
Henry

G'day Henry. Cute avatar :)
Not sure if they're holding bingo nights at Hooters yet, but that's where a lot of the other Sydney siders seem to gather now and then ;)

Welcome Henry.

Plenty of info on hear about mods. Maybe not so much on the MY10's as not many owners are on here, yet.

I see you've found the PHATman... Hope your wallet is deep with many pockets... :D

Enjoy and welcome to Team Black. :good:

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas,

Hooters sounds good, half price meals on Military Monday, cannot complain about the food and view
Although some of them hooters chicks should invest in a push-up bra, im sure it could be tax deductable as its technically a work expense ?
