haha well its kind of a grey area that i'm off them now (long story) but it is one hell of a car!

i wasn't originally planning on getting the GT-B, was originally looking at an 04-05 GT, but my dad is a terrible influence and now i owe him for it haha, worth it though...

Welcome Sam! It's a given that you are into MTB since you live near Lysterfield ;)

You must also get a lot of shifts at Woolies to afford a GTB as a student too hehehe.

Welcome Sam. Looks like you are in the same boat as me, I'm still on my P's but that doesn't stop me driving my 07 GT-B around that I picked up on Thursday. Only on my P's for another 20 days anyway so not a huge deal, also I have my full license that I got in the mail yesterday so I'll just say "oh sorry officer I thought it meant I could drive it now" and show him the Full License.

Also, PICS!

It wouldnt be the cops that id be most worried about (Although it is 3 points and $1200 fine). What a fantastic loop hole for insurance company if you were to have an accident

I'm exactly the same boat Kieran, got my full license sent to me last week and the letter said to destroy my old one, thats enough of a grey area for me...

out of curiosity, what date are you off your P's?

I will be putting pics up after friday, thats when I will have finished all the body mods I have planned for the time being

Cheers

Im 99% sure that you are on your full license. As soon as they send it out its effective AFAIK. My sisters boyfriend got sent his full license a couple of weeks before he turned 21 and got caught speeding a few days later. He was supposed to have lost his license but when he did a check he still had 9 points or something left.

Yeah I called them up and asked if I would be covered, originally the girl on the phone was like 'oh yeah that's fine you will still be covered' then I called up again the next day to make sure and the same girl said 'oh ummm I'm not actually sure...probably not...yeah no you wouldn't be'.
So I'm just driving it fairly carefully, also I don't drive it to work anyway so only gets used on the weekends in my local area.

Sammy I turned 21 on the 6th of June but only got my P plates on the 20th of July in 2007. My Full License says it expires on the 20/07 so I'm intruiged as to wether or not I am now actually on my full license as per the post above. I don't think that I am because my mate who is now a cop was pulled over the day he turned 21 for a random breath test, and he had 1 beer to celebrate with his dad, as he had gotten his provisionals on the day of his birthday, but the cop showed him that he was still on his Provisional license until midnight of that day. The cop let him off of course, but still it's interesting.
I might give my insurance company a call tonight and see what they say about my owning a full license card.

Also Sam when you say you went in to Ultrex, do they have a store in Melbourne or something? I'm considering just going all out and getting the STI boot + roof lip and Ultrex front bar next week as I'm already hooked on buying stuff for it lol.
