GT Sti #084 reporting in!

Introduce yourself

Which alarm system??

Postby Garry » Fri May 25, 2007 1:35 am

Hi All,

Please read this

http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=8335#8335

Dibbo is suggesting that you dont get an alarm that operates of the original buttons on the Subaru Key because that is where the wekness is.

Read the posts on the above link as it explains in more detail.

I still dont know what to do as I dont want another remote control device on my bunch of keys if I can help it.

Mistake with this message

Postby Garry » Fri May 25, 2007 1:43 am

Sorry Everyone, I meant to post my last message under the General section. I'm new to all of this.

I have asked the "Which alarm system" question on the general section.

Reviving Old Security Thread

Postby GTBR46 » Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:01 am

This thread contains a link talking about vulnerabilities in Subarus immobiler/alarm system.

Is the comment still valid, or has subaru since redressed this?

I ask because Im about to receive my 09 GTB and Id like to keep it:)

I had to pop into Glen Waverely Subaru today to pick up some parts (my wife is always redecorating things.....I kind of liked the front of th forester the way it was!)
Whilst I was there, I asked the parts/service gurus about the alarm. They assure me the 09 GTB has a rolling code for the immobiliser.
