How do I reduce the sound of my iphone?

I want to buy the 16 gig iphone. My contract with AT&T expires in a month so i can upgrade in a month. When i buy the iphone i have to get the 30$ data plan and i already have a faimly unlimited texting plan. Will the unlimited texting cover my iphone? Ive read online and people have said it will and it wont.

I don't know which is funnier - the first post is about an iPhone, the fact that the abovementioned iPhone thread is in introductions, that the member's signature is about an iPhone unlocking website, that the member is not Australian, that the member has nothing to do with a Subaru... the list goes on.
