Hi Guys,
Ive just purchased a 2004 Subaru Liberty 2004 Safety Pack 2.5i
I live in Sydney, this is my first time driving a Subaru,
Is there anything i should know about these cars?
97,000kms
White in Colour
Manual
Towbar
Rear Spoiler
Ill try post pictures up soon. just wondering if anyone in sydney in the west has the same car.

At that age/mileage the timing belt should have been replaced at 4 years. If it has not then have it done asap. Other parts I'd replace at the same time are the timing belt tensioners, water pump, and cam cover gaskets since your car is close to 100KKms.
Also make sure things like coolant replacement and gearbox/rear diff fluids have been changed on time.
Remember all fluids need to be replaced not only based on mileage, but time as well since they still deteriorate if you dont' use them much.
Whenever I buy a second hand car I make sure most fluids are replaced if there is no record of the last time they were done, or if the records are unclear.

Did you purchase privately, or through a Subaru dealer?
It would be a good idea to try to obtain the service history for the car. If it's not available, then as Jim suggested, you need to assume the worstm prticularly about the timinig belt being changed.

i bought it privately from wyong.
i live in liverpool area btw. took me abt 2 hours to get there
the timing belt is due

Just wondering if anyone is selling a front lip? id be interested..still waiting for my car to come out of the mechanics to take photos!

so i changed my timing belt and i still get this squeaking noise as im releasing the clutch and accelerating.. what could it be? its really fustrating..
