New guy from Wollongong

Intro well lets see...

I brought my Silver Subaru Liberty GT spec B STi- manual on the weekend (Sat), in VIC. I caught a flight up to Melbourne Friday night and drove back to Wollongong Saturday. The car is in great shape; having only 8,800Km went I got it (it now however has 10,300Km). Mags are Silver with Black Brumbo brakes.

In the short term
1. looking at getting a better sound out of the quad tail pipes (I do like them!) something along the lines of "what the *uck was that" when I drive pass aggressively...

2. adding in an I Pod aux in the arm rest just under the 12 V output.

3. Tinting all the car windows 35% (currently the driver and passenger is 10% but the back is 35%, not sure why???)- Not sure if I want mirror finish or just darkest possible tint (your thoughts??)

Then a while down the track (when I pay the bloody thing off!),
4. looking at changing the colour of the brakes to stand out more (any ideas???)

5. A re-tune after that

6. maybe changing the front spoiler (you know that plastic STi that bottoms out on driveways!) to a more aggressive one...

So yea that’s my thoughts 4 days in of having my MY08 Lib GT STi

congrats on the new purchase mate, good to see more gong guys on the forum. mods list that you have is a great idea i reckon but i still think keep the sti lip on there unless you like something like ariths (another forum member) front lip which looks good also.

Thanks guys,
its good to be here!

LGT-05T, Yea i just need to plastic weld the STi lip as their is a small crack in it.. It does look good though, i just bottomed out on a pretty flat driveway of one of my mates- guess i'll just need to get used to the lower ride then my old car (Madza 6 Luxury Sport... Yea i know)

Hey any good mods places in Wollongong or do i need to go to Sydney?

Hi Nathan,

No where in Wollongong but a short drive up the F6 you will find Pulse Racing at Menai. You could also talk to Parso_rex on here who has a similar car to yours. He can tune it for you at Port Hacking Automotive.

I'll keep an eye out for you around the Gong. Post some pics up of your ride.

David.

Welcome mate!

Congrats on the purchase :D

I think your going to struggle to get the exhaust note you want... Have heard many Libs with many different exhausts & none of them inspire that though... Well, with me anyway :P

You shouldn't have too much trouble with the front lip if you are running at standard height... Unless you have one c*#t of a drive way :P

So since there appear to be a few members down the Gong these days, who's keen for a meet!? I'm not far away being in the Shire & I'm sure I'll be able to convince a few other Sydney members to come for the drive :D

nath in japan (from wat iv been told) most cars have tint in the back darker than the tint in the front from factory. id personally say that its some sort of regulation in japan, just like for example we can't tint the front windows cause of vision reasons. just guessing but who knows but id say its got something to do along those lines.
