G'day All. Great Site. Got some dyno results.

Geez, it doesn't take long does it?!!
One minute i'm lovin EVERY aspect of my brand new second hand '05 3.0 Outback a/t, then, 5 minutes after finding your site, i'm dreaming of double din facia's and bloody Vin tunes! Fair dinkum..
Shortly after, i drove my (suddenly intolerable) car down the Newcastle freeway, and by complete accident, drove straight to Pulse Racing's workshop. Oops.
1 Haltech ECU please Dr. Paul!!
This is the (surprising) result.

A good improvement for sure from the standard 118atw kw's, (i was expecting Vin tunes 10-12 atw!).
But admittedly, the auto really is kinda letting the side down. I still get that annoying 'count to 3' before i get what my right foot asked for..
Can anyone please advise as to anyone performing (3.0) auto transmission adjustments (in Sydney/Newcastle)?
Finally, hats off to all those guys who readily provide their valuable knowladge, encouragement and performance tips for newbies like me.
Cheer's.
P.S. My wife hates you! (The 'to get better fuel economy' bullshit only spreads so far!!) ha ha..

No auto adjustments available as of yet (as far as I know), but what you can do is jab the throttle all the way, let it go, and then plant your foot. It'll kick the ECU into the more aggressive maps and it'll go harder

That's one of the reasons I bought a Spec-B LIberty rather than an Outback.
The self-levelling suspension, and low range would have been useful, but the manual gearbox in the SpecB was the crucial point... :)

Welcome to the forum mate :)

Paul is building a good rep here isn't he? Quite a few of us have had work done by him and the results are great!

140kw atw is a great result, with the added benefit of the fuel efficieny too.

Enjoy the site mate.

Thanks for the welcome fellas.
This is my first Subie and i can see why everyone raves about them. Of all the Subaru owners i talked to when selecting a car, not one of them had anything but praise for the brand. You don't get that very often, so to me, it was an obvious choice -and now i got 140kw's to play with it's even better! I wouldn't have a clue what effect the Haltech has had on fuel efficiency, as ive been a bit of a lead foot ever since i drove out of Pulse's driveway..
I chose the Outback as i also ride Enduro/motocross bikes, and the places we trailer them to sometimes gets a bit rough. I kinda like the body kit too. Loving the premium pack!
Been talking to Marty at FHRX audio, and he's only to happy to drain my account of the few remaining coins rattling around.. Oh dear, It's like being 19 all over again..!
Hey tangcla, thanks for the auto trans tip, i'll have to try that asap.
Cheers.

Welcome to the forums Out6ack ! I'm glad to hear that you've found this little palce of heaven and it's inspired you somewhat to get that little bit more urge from your pride and joy ! The guys here are GREAT at providing advice as well as organising various Group Buys that save you BiG $$s.

So, make sure you don't look in the For Sale section as it will truly make your mouth water, heart flutter and your wife give you THAT look !

Enjoy !

Cheers,
Lok

G'day chik. I'm from Lake Macquarie, just south of Newcastle. Great place with the beaches & state forests all nearby. Just doing the whole young family/home loan thing like a lot of others i guess, but while it's easy to blow the kitty on some of these mods, this site and the members of it, seem to be great at saving us a bundle as well. Gotta love that.
Damn there's some nice cars on some of these avitars isn't there?
I don't think ive ever been so careful as to where i park in a car park as with this car! I actually think i may be losing weight for the first time in years as i'll park miles away from the shops in order to avoid the dreaded dropkick door dinters!
Are you local to the area?

Yes im a local, there is a small group of us from the newcastle/lake macquarie area! :)
I think most of us here also park a mile away from the shops too to avoid the "carpark dings", or just take another car :)
